Cannon Hall Park and Gardens secures Lottery support

It was announced today that Cannon Hall Park and Gardens have been successful in securing earmarked funding of £2.8m, including a development grant of £138,000, from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Big Lottery Fund for the targeted and sustainable conservation of its buildings and surrounding parkland.

CANNON HALL POLISH CAMP REMEMBERED

A special information panel has been unveiled at Cannon Hall park to share the remarkable stories of ’Cannon Hall Camp’, which stood in the grounds of the hall from 1940 until the 1950s. Initially for the military, at any one time its distinctive huts were home to around 1,000 soldiers of different nationalities, many of whom took part in the D-Day landings of June 1944.
