Latest episode - Episode 29: The Wharncliffe Woodmoor Disaster, Carlton (6th August, 1936)
One of the worst mining disasters in South Yorkshire in the 20th century took place at Wharncliffe Woodmoor Nos.1, 2 and 3. There were no survivors, 57 men were killed instantly and another miner died in hospital a week later.
This episode features interviews from 6 miners who worked and lived nearby the pit.
