We’re delighted to be hosting a very special event at the Cooper Gallery.  On Thursday, 7 September at 10am the Wildsmith family will join us virtually to launch their latest book Paws, Claws, Tails & Roars.

The book answers the call of the wild with this timeless, stunningly beautiful gift book from one of the world's finest illustrators, presented with a foreword from one of the shining stars of children's literature, Michael Rosen. Brian Wildsmith's breathtaking animal paintings are accompanied by new lyrical text, inviting readers to pause a while and linger over the glorious wild animals, birds, and fishes within. Whether already a fan of Brian Wildsmith, or discovering his work for the first time, readers will cherish this book for a lifetime.

To mark this wonderful occasion, we will be joined by a local school for a reading from the book by super storyteller Mama G.

We are also announcing the arrival of two very special exhibitions opening in the Cooper Gallery and Experience Barnsley in 2024
