Jayde Marie Bell - Cudworth Mural Making

'My project was an energetic burst of quickfire mural making with the youth community of Cudworth, at The Youth Association. In this time I refined my workshop ideas and practice for using spray paint to make art with a group I had not worked with before. I aimed to make something fun, fast, inspiring and beautiful, which we delivered.  A blueprint was made for taking the workshop elsewhere in the borough, and we were invited back to The Youth Association which was the real heartwarming cherry on top.

The ENGAGE / CREATE programme has been a real treasure. The project carved out a unique and safe room for reflection, sharing and being creative humans alongside one another. A moment of togetherness and pause within the busy and often solitary nature of creative life'

A colorful mural depicts abstract mountains and valleys in shades of purple, pink, yellow, and green, blending together with soft lines and dappled patterns against a white background.
A group of people standing outdoors at night in front of a colorful banner and metal fence, all dressed in winter clothing and holding items, with trees and a building visible in the background.
A person with curly hair spray paints colorful abstract art on two canvases outdoors, with vibrant patterns and shapes visible on both artworks. A fence and greenery are in the background.
A woman with curly blonde hair dyed blue at the ends stands with her arms crossed, wearing a textured red jacket. She is indoors with orange and pink geometric decor and green plants in the background.

About Jayde Marie Bell

Her works are storytelling tapestries that captivate the imagination, each mural telling a unique story of the people and places encountered throughout its creation.

Jayde’s portfolio reflects a commitment to social commentary, participation, cultural celebration, and grassroots philosophy.

Jayde said: “I am over the moon about being commissioned for Engage/ Create. I have rarely been offered art opportunities in the area I grew up. I feel it is a deeply meaningful opportunity to give some colourful and spirited artwork back to the areas that shaped me.”
