Ken Brookes, volunteer and museum guide looks back on the last 25 years of the museum in Darfield which was gifted to the people of Darfield by Maurice Dobson who lived and worked at 2 Vicar Road for over 30 years with his partner Fred Halliday who together ran the local shop.

This illustrated talk looks at how the building was transformed from a shop into a museum by a small group of volunteers with help from National Lottery funding. Ken will provide an insight into the lives of Maurice and Fred and also take you on a  journey around the museum showing you some of the fascinating objects on display.

Hosted by Barnsley Civic Trust, in partnership with Barnsley Archives & Local Studies. Free talk, donations welcome.
