A Covid Bounce-Back Programme Learning Event was delivered on the 8th March, held in person at Barnsley Civic. The purpose of the event was to share and celebrate successes from the programme, to provide an opportunity for organisations to reflect on lessons learnt, and to encourage the continued development of a peer support network between Community and Voluntary Sector and Culture, Creative and Visitor Sector organisations within Barnsley.

Organisation’s first-hand experiences were heard at the event including talks from; Chilypep – H.O.M.E Wellbeing Hub, Education Learning Support Hub (ELSH), and Mark Tillotson.  Inspiring films about the progress made by organisations such as Trans Pennine Trail, Richard Kitson, Barnsley CVS and Helping Others Positively Engaged (H.O.P.E) in Community were also played at the event.  The event also provided an opportunity for organisations to network and consider the future of the Community and Voluntary Sector and Culture, Creative and Visitor Sector in Barnsley.

Later in the evening, we got to hear more first-hand experiences of the Programme and were joined by fantastic keynote speakers Wayne Hemingway, co-founder of Red or Dead, and John Loughton, Founder of Scran Academy.

Another event will take place later in May 2022, providing further opportunity for organisations part of the Covid Bounce-Back Programme to come together in Barnsley.
